  • All students complete and receive a U.S diploma when they graduate from Colegio Maya
  • Up through the end of grade 10 all students complete the requirements from the Guatemalan Ministry of Education
  • At the end of grade 10 students and families can chose to continue meeting the Guatemalan requirements in addition to the standard expectations at Colegio Maya

  • Less freedom to select electives at Colegio Maya in grade 11 and 12
  • Less unscheduled time during grade 11 and 12 due to the need to take additional courses beyond the regular load at Colegio Maya.
  • More academic work and expectations during an already busy and challenging time in your schooling.

  • Seminario: 1st semester, outside school hours
  • A standardized test, in Spanish, at the end of the school year. The score on this test is not counted in the students’ average.

Timeline for Decision

  • Informational meeting with 11th grade parents: August 17th
  • Final decision to be made by August the 24th
