• A minimum: Bachelor’s Degree, or its equivalent, MA  preferred.

• A recognized teaching certificate.

• An understanding of and commitment to the Mission, Vision, Philosophy, and goals of Colegio Maya.

• An exemplary personnel record.

• Evidence of professional commitment to continuous growth.

• Some experience working with an internationally diverse student body and has an appreciation and sensitivity to different cultures.

• A team player/collaborator who will share the responsibility with colleagues in accomplishing the goals and priorities of Colegio Maya.

• Willing to support and enhance the Colegio Maya Graduate Profile, both in the classroom and in the greater community.

• Competent in using technology.

Elementary Specific

• Experience or training in Balanced Literacy and a differentiated classroom.

• Willing and eager to incorporate “active learning” in the classroom.

• Contributes to the school community in at least one formal way beyond the classroom.

• Communicates learning goals/objectives, high standards and expectations of quality to students.

• Loves and enjoys working with multi lingual students and has some ESL background or training to give support in the classroom setting.
