HOMEWORK
POLICIES
Middle School Exploratory Art:
The students will be responsible to locate, on occasion, alternative materials
which are not available at school (e.g. glass, cans, metal).
Middle School Exploratory Music:
There will be no homework
assigned in MS Exploratory Music with the exception of extra rehearsals, if necessary,
with group members for the final performance at the end of the session.
High School Art:
1) The students will be responsible
for sketching five drawings in their homework on a weekly basis.
2) Research on artists' biographies, artistic movements, and famous museums will
be included in the students' final portfolio at the end of the semester.
High School Choir:
In general, no written homework
will be assigned.However, performances often take place outside of
regular school hours and attendance is mandatory for students participating in
the choir.
High School Speech:
Students are responsible
for preparing and presenting five speeches spread out through the course of the
semester.Homework will include research, reading, preparing visual/audio aids,
organizing and writing speeches.Their homework will be no more than an hour per
week.They are also given one test.
High School Drama:
In addition to learning about basic drama, students are
responsible for participating, in one way or another, in the spring production.
Depending on specific duties, homework will include some of the following: research,
reading, writing assignments, artistic designs, memorizing lines, and character
development.Their homework will be no more than an average of one hour per week.
In addition, attendance and participation in rehearsals and performances conducted
outside of regular school hours are mandatory.
