How Can I help a Friend Who Cuts?

 

When someone scratches or cuts on his/her body with a sharp object – enough to break the skin and make it bleed – is called cutting.

 

It can be hard to understand why a friend might injure himself or herself on purpose.  You can help by:

v    Noticing that someone is self-injuring

v    Offering to listen and support

v    Getting help when it is needed
