Colegio Maya

After School Activities Program-First Semester-August 2008

The Colegio Maya After School Activities program enhances the quality of our student life. At the elementary level, from grades 1 through 5, students can choose to participate in a variety of activities. The activities run from 3:00 PM to 3:55 PM, for twelve weeks each semester. The first set of activities will begin on Monday, February 5th and ends on Friday, May 4th. The fee of Q500 is charged per activity to help cover the cost of the program. Within the first few weeks of each semester students will receive the registration form for these activities and bus information.

Middle School and High School after school activities are generally a part of our varsity sports program and electives program (drama and music). On demand, additional activities may be offered that will be included in the same after school activity program as defined above. We also have activities for adults!

Students staying for all supervised activities can use either of the two after school bus routes that run at 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. These buses stop at designated stops. It is not a door to door service. The stops are specified in a special contract that students will be given which must be signed by parents in order to use the service.

Your child will be required to pick up a bus contract from Elizabeth at the reception desk. All students will need an ASA bus contract even though you have filled one out for regular bus service.

If you normally pick up your child from school everyday and need to use the 4:00 ASA bus service you will be required to pay a Q370 fee per activity the bus is used for ASA. This is only if you do not pay for regular bus service.

Parents: Please be at school at 3:55 to pick up your child from his/her after school activity. It is vitally important to have all students on the bus, or in their cars to go home by 4:00. Your promptness is greatly appreciated.

Important dates:

Thursday, August 14th: ASA Descriptions, and registration form go home with students

Wednesday, August 20th: Registration forms and money due.

Monday, August 25th: ASA Begins

Friday, November 21st: ASA Ends

NO ASA on Early Release Wednesdays
