Education: Certificate of Translation, Georgetown University, Washington D.C. Certificate of Library Science, Universidad Rafael Landivar, Guatemala. Courses offered: Elementary Librarian. Reason for living in Guatemala: We have lived in Guatemala in and out for a total of 14 years and it has always felt like home to our family. We love the weather, the scenery, the food, and above all, the people we have met throughout the years. Time spent in Guatemala: 14 years in total Reason for choosing Colegio Maya: Maya is like my second home. Three of our six children graduated from Maya and I also served on the Maya Board of Directors, helped with the PTA, and volunteered at the library. Once our children graduated, I couldn’t stop being involved with the school!!! Quality of Experience in Guatemala and Colegio Maya: Colegio Maya was a wonderful place for our kids. Maya not only offers academic excellence, but cares for the growth of the student as a person and as a citizen of the world. Interests: Reading (of course!!), traveling, taking cooking classes (although I don’t like to cook everyday), fishing. Family: My husband Ricardo is retired and enjoying the great Guatemalan weather. He is a great gardener and cook. We have six children (four girls and twin boys) and all but one live in the greater Los Angeles area. We have one daughter living in Guatemala. Future plans: Continue to work at Colegio Maya and take more courses related to library science. |
