Education: B.A. in English from Memphis State University (now called University of Memphis); M.A. in TESOL from The School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. Courses offered: Elementary ESOL for grades 1 and 2; LRC for grades 7 and 8 Reason for living in Guatemala: To teach at Colegio Maya, but also, I’ve wanted to return here since I visited several years ago; it’s closer to home than Japan, and to drink in the culture and language (one of them) of this country. Time spent in Guatemala: 10 days in 2001 and from July 24, 2008 Reason for choosing Colegio Maya: Its reputation is glowing. Quality of Experience in Guatemala and Colegio Maya: So far, so great! Interests: Hiking, walking, viewing wildlife, snorkeling, swimming, reading, painting and drawing, traveling, yoga, alternative healthcare Family: 3 lovely aged 24-and-up daughters, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, many nieces and nephews, and my dear second father, aged 91 and vigorous Future plans: to grow more and more whole so that I can give and receive more; on the less esoteric side, to travel and see this wonderful world, to enjoy being a grandmother, and to learn Spanish! |
