Education: Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada. Masters of Education from Framingham State College. Courses offered: Grade 5 Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science. Reason for living in Guatemala: I moved here 6 years ago in search of a change both personally and professionally. In the process of living in Guatemala I met and married my husband, Renato. Time spent in Guatemala: 6 years. Reason for choosing Colegio Maya: I chose to come to Colegio Maya because of its outstanding reputation for academic excellence. I also appreciate that with that academic excellence Colegio Maya is very concerned with the whole child – socially, physically and emotionally as well. Quality of Experience in Guatemala and Colegio Maya: It’s truly been amazing!! This country has so many beautiful places and the people are amazing. I love the school. It has a wonderful feeling of community and the students are motivated to learn. Interests: I love to exercise – go to the gym, pilates, walking, skiing (in Canada), running….really anything active. I enjoy spending time with my husband, dog, family and friends. I also love to cook, bake and eat!! Family: In Guatemala – my husband, Renato and dog, Winston. In Vancouver, Canada is where most of my immediate family lives. Future plans: At the moment, my husband and I are building a house here in Guatemala. We’re hoping that it gets finished eventually!!
