Education: MA. International Comparative Education. Stanford University. MA. Early Childhood Education. Mills College. California Teaching Credential. Mills College. BS. Environmental Policy & Planning. UC, Davis. Courses offered: Kindergarten Reason for living in Guatemala: Married a Guatemalan. Time spent in Guatemala: About eight-nine years in total. Reason for choosing Colegio Maya: My most obvious reason is that my son attends Colegio Maya in second grade. Otherwise I chose Maya because I was looking for a healthy, happy, caring and stimulating place to work. Quality of Experience in Guatemala and Colegio Maya: I have lived and worked in Guatemala for many years now. The country is beautiful and has so much to offer. Coming from an international background myself and having high standards for the education of my son, Colegio Maya has been the most positive and inspiring school I have found in Guatemala for us. Interests: Other than my son and his many budding talents in sports, music, and reading; all of which I enjoy myself as well…I took up violin to motivate my son! I love animals and we have three dogs that I (sometimes ‘we’) walk daily. I enjoy traveling and spending time with close friends, but I also enjoy continuing my work with Safe Passage. Family: I have one son. His name is Gianmarco Mini and he is now in second grade! Future plans: Currently I enjoy my job, my life, and more time with my son and my wonderful friends. The rest is unknown right now!
