International Food Day

Thanksgiving at Colegio Maya brings International Food Day. Students, coordinated by the PTA, bring dishes and treats from around the world to share with classmates. This tradition began in 1981 when elementary teachers wanted to extend the idea of Thanksgiving to a multi-national student body. The Multipurpose Building was filled with food for students and staff to enjoy. The feast is now held in the cafeteria. Over the years, this tradition has included typical dances, music and students dressing up in costumes from their native countries.
