One of the most poignant moments during commencement exercises at Colegio Maya is the candlelight ceremony. During graduation, the lights are dimmed and the parents of the graduates are called to the stage. The parents exchange their lighted candle for a rose that is presented to them by their child.  The school honors not only those students who are graduating but also the families that have loved and supported them throughout their academic careers.
