4.         Student Honor Code and Student Court

During the 2003-2004 school year, the Secondary Student Council (STUCO) began seriously investigating the possibilities of creating a Student Honor Code and Student Court. From the initial idea, the Council held a retreat where the students brainstormed the ideas and the processes for the creation of these. At school, the STUCO held student assemblies to provide information to the student body on their work and to seek feedback. This year, STUCO continues to work on the Honor Code/Student Court. The group’s advisor reported that this year’s STUCO (who are all students who did not work on it directly last year) like the Code but are not sure the Court is needed. They are working on flushing out the Code more, thinking it should be mandatory not optional, and looking for ways to have more and even better communication between Administration and students.
